By the fall of 2010, I had put in a call to Whirlpool due to the washing machine chewing holes into clothing and not cleaning the clothes. Some of the clothes would come out of the washing machine with dry spots on them. Whirlpool sent out two different servicemen and even though one of them replaced the agitator we have still had problems with it. One of the servicemen even tried to tell me it wasnt the machine but it was my detergent (I use HE Purex dye free). I was told by a service rep at Whirlpool that there was nothing more they could do and I would just have to deal with it. I understand that products go faulty but with good customer service these issues could be resolved. Whirlpool obviously has little regard for their customers. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau. Hopefully they can get results.

Whirlpool Platinum Cabrio Washer wtw8240 - Ive owned this washer for two years. Worst two years of my life. Its leaked since day one. They have attempted to repair the leaking on 5 different repair visits (told me the nozzle that puts the water in the tub doesnt stop in time and it overflows on my floor). Finally it seemed to be somewhat fixed and then it started to sound like a freight train coming through my house. They determined the bearings were worn on my tub and had to replace the whole tub unit. Seven visits. I got one month out of it and it’s leaking again. I am now out of the extended warranty I purchased. This is ridiculous. Isnt there a lemon law on appliances? I know if a dealer attempts 4 or more repairs on your car for the same problem unsuccessfully, it qualifies for the lemon law. $800 for a washing machine that dumps water all over my floor and no one can seem to fix it. Well Im done, Whirlpool. Next time I will purchase a plain washer with no bells or whistles and it wont be made by Whirlpool!

Our 4-year old Whirlpool microwave suddenly stopped heating. We thought that we forgot to push something so we tried again to start it. This time, it started to spark. We bought a new microwave oven and foolishly bought another over the range Whirlpool microwave. This was about 1 1/2 years ago. The second Whirlpool microwave oven stopped heating as well. F7 came up on the controls which meant that the magnetron failed in this second microwave as well. We called Whirlpool and they said they would only repair it if we paid for the repair which would have cost almost as much as a new microwave and maybe more if other parts were involved. Next, last year, 2012, the pump on our Whirlpool dishwasher broke and once again, it was too expensive to repair it. We had to buy another dishwasher so we bought a Maytag, not knowing that they were made by Whirlpool. I guess we will have to wait until that guarantee is up before that also breaks. Also, last year, our Whirlpool washer pump broke and that cost us a few hundred dollars to repair.From the complaints that I am reading from people about their Whirlpool appliances, it is seems that their products are made to last just until the warranties expire. We should start a class action against Whirlpool. On many sites, I have read numerous complaints about Whirlpool products, the majority about the magnetrons in their microwave ovens breaking during and shortly after guarantees run out. They should not be allowed to get away with this. BBB, Consumer Affairs, where are you? To the many of you who have been burned by Whirlpool, I hope you have contacted the BBB and Consumer Affairs and maybe even the Attorney Generals office in your home state.

Anything with a drawstring or straps gets ripped up or stretched out. It’s loud and shakes, even though it’s leveled. Now, to top it off, it’s leaking water from the basket seal. I called Whirlpool and they couldnt give a damn. Since it’s out of warranty, it’s my problem, even though she said they know this machine has a lot of problems. So now Im stuck either fixing this thing or buying a new washer. Every appliance in my house is a Whirlpool and Ive had nothing but problems with several of them. I thought when I bought the brand it was a good brand and they stood behind their stuff. Boy, was I wrong! I will never buy Whirlpool again! They should recall this washer!

In September 2011, we purchased a Cabrio Washer and Dryer. Both appliances are extremely inferior. My first complaint to Whirlpool was in reference to the dryer. It kept overheating to the point that you couldnt even touch the clothes. In doing research I found this was a common problem and in some cases, even caused fires. After finding this out and contacting Whirlpool to complain and see if there were any recalls, they indicated they knew nothing about the problem and recalls would have to come from their legal department. I asked to speak with someone in that department and was told that was not possible. We threw the machine away and purchased a new no frills dryer. Now the washer has totally died. It would make noises, lockup, not spin, not clean, etc. Basically all the complaints other consumers have listed. It is now on the curb and I will again have a purchase a new washer. The Whirlpool refrigerator I bought at the same time is a whole other story. Please do not buy Whirlpool. When contacted they show no empathy or concern about the inferiority of their products. There are only the 2 of us now and we do laundry one time a week. It amazes me how much money I am out between the initial purchases, repairs, and replacements. My daughter has also had the bad luck of purchasing Whirlpool appliances and is now experiencing the same problems. Get the word out to all of your friends to NEVER purchase Whirlpool. They are apparently only concerned with their profits and not making good products or caring about their consumers problems. I made a very expensive mistake and will never purchase their products again. I have made them aware that I would be placing my review on your website along with the other 1,690 complaints. I have all my documentation re purchases, repairs, replacements and emails sent to Whirlpool. Unfortunately I cannot document all the calls made to this company. Bottom line, Im very disappointed in the products and the lack of concern. Please do not purchase.

We have already spent $400 on a control board and now we need a control panel which is another $300! Its ridiculous spending $700 on repair of an oven that should have lasted a lot longer! Another thing is that our ovens are white and now the panels only come in black! I will never ever buy Whirlpool appliances again and I am spreading the word to everyone I know!

Whirlpool Refrigerator Model WRX9885IBM01 French Doors - We purchased this $2,000+ dollar refrigerator in December of 2014 and within two weeks of plugging it in, we noticed the freezer drawer was crooked and ice crystals in the freezer compartment. We contacted Whirlpool re the matter and they dispatched a local serviceman. He informed us that the inner lining of the refrigerator was crooked and he contacted Whirlpool. He sent pictures of the crooked drawers and was advised by Whirlpool to adjust the outside door, but nothing could be done for the inside crookedness and that he was to take silicone and seal the refrigerator to prevent air coming in to create the ice... Really? We told him that was merely a Band-Aid to the problems and we wanted a replacement. According to Whirlpool, they can only service our month old refrigerator and cannot replace it.Actually, they cannot even service the defective product they sell, they can only caulk the problem until it comes again. I am not going to stop until everybody in the country buying a refrigerator thinks first about the warranty Whirlpool offers. After reading defective parts, etc., I am amazed they are still in business! We are contacting Lowes to come pick it up! Let them deal with the garbage they are selling!

I find I use the rinse and spin cycle once with a little soap and run it again to rinse. A lot of extra work. Sheets washed in the deep water cycle turn into a giant twisted mess if you dont stop machine and untangle everything. Hate it. Hate it. Do not buy this machine. I use more water by washing things twice or fewer items. What a waste of time!!! Locking lids are the worst thing ever designed. Why?? Dont tell me some stupid kid is going to climb in it. My product is less than a year old and this will be the third time Ive had to have someone out to fix it. I called corporate to ask them to stand by their product and ask them at what point they would just replace the whole fridge! The girl I spoke to never once said, Im sorry for your inconvenience! I have a Whirlpool Duet Steam Washer that will be two years old in September 2013. It has been making terrible, loud noises during the spin cycle for a few months now. Repair tech told me it was the bearings and very costly. It will cost me over half of the original cost to repair a less than two year old washer. This is my second Duet front loader from Whirlpool. The first one was a drum issue and the rod ended up snapping. Again, very costly so I bought a new one. I should have learned my lesson the first time. I do not agree with extended warranties and it is just an additional money maker for the manufacturer. They should be making the product so people do not have to purchase those. Anyway, back to the washer at hand. I refuse to spend that much on a newer washer and will never purchase a Whirlpool product again. I will let this thing bang for as long as it is going to last. Unfortunately have also just purchased the dryer that matches this washer since I still had the old model Duet Dryer, so kind of stuck with them. Spent an hour and a half yesterday on the phone talking to people at Whirlpool and they really dont care if you have an issue or not no matter how old your machine is. They just want you to have purchased the extended warranty or forget it. There should be a recall and they should be helping these customers who all seem to be having the same issue. Done with them!!

I hate it and will place on every blog the worst review I can write. Its a nightmare. It has a fake bleach dispenser a door but no holder underneath. Even the repairman thought the bleach went in the dispenser. My clothes were ruined along with sheets, etc on numerous washes. The bleach partially dispensed on dark clothes at least 8 washes.The washer was purchased at BrandsMart 11 months ago and so theres no returns.

The body of the washer has rust coming through the paint and large areas that is so rusted that the paint has chipped off completely. A washer is expected to deal with water and not rust through the body. I have a 10-year old Ford truck without a speck of rust. Dont they undercoat? The circuit board has had to be replaced because of rust. I have to take several Q-tips and go under the cover to remove all the rust if I dont it gets rust stains on my clothes, which is impossible to remove. The customer service is non existent. They have left me on the line for over 40 minutes. I hang on only because it would be another hour or so of my time to get someone to answer. I was without a washer for a month while waiting for parts. Why dont they have parts for their products? I had to slop my way too dirty laundry mats 3 times a week as I do 2 to 3 loads a day.My washer is downstairs and stops and gives me the unbalanced message even when its not, running up and down the stairs several times to complete one load. I also get the F51 message for no perceivable reason. The extra rinse button only works 1/2 the time. This was an expensive washer ($1,000.00) and I feel that I deserve my money back. They are knowingly making an inferior product.

I looked up the review on this washer and it seems to be the census that this washer is POS. Im having the store pick it up and refunding my money. After struggling with this washer for the past year, I was told today that to repair it, it would cost around $800 or I would need to buy another washer. The washers bearings and tub need to be replaced and it will not spin properly or at all. Previously, I have owned washers for over 10 years each. This was definitely not a good purchase. After reading all of the other complaints on this site, I understand that I am not alone. It was also mentioned on one complaint of the possibility of a fire hazard with this washer. Ive owned this Whirlpool, bottom freezer refrigerator for two and a half years now. About a year ago I began to notice water on the floor in front of it. I had the ice maker hooked up, which I never used, so I disconnected that. The problem continued. I discovered that the bottom of the freezer compartment would fill with ice and once full the next dose of water would flood the surrounding floor. I have cleared the ice out, on a weekly basis, but have still had the water flow onto my floor. Its a daily thing now as Ive gotten tired of pulling the unit out and removing the ice build-up on a weekly basis. My replacement refrigerator will not likely be a Whirlpool of any model.

Last year, Sears came and did the work and made their arrangements to have the part replaced. This year 2012, March 9 my gas control valve went again. The unit is not even a year old and broke again. Unfortunately, the six-year warranty is up on the hot water tank. I called Whirlpool two times. The first time, the guy told me that the warranty was up and hung up on me! The second time, the guy would not honor the replacing of a part that is not even a year old yet. The money I spent over the six years making repair on it, I could have bought a new one. This company is nothing but a bunch of **. Is there anything that I can do? I have paid to replace this five years in a row.

They sent a new company that was a no-show, so I had to wait until July for the new company to come out. When they did, they replaced the ice maker. It worked for 10 days and quit. Same thing, replace the ice maker and this time quit about 30 days later. I called August 27th because the 4th Ice maker quit again. I was told by a supervisor that because they have used the same claim number it counts as one claim and does not fall under the Lemon Law. I did get the supervisor to admit that there are 2 claims in the system while under Warranty, but now it is on the extended warranty. Whirlpool is Garbage and I am here to tell everyone to STAY AWAY!

The freezer works fine but the refrigerator does not feel that cold and when I put a thermometer in there, it reads 42-43 deg although the refrigerator is set at 37 deg. The tech was just here and told me to put a thermometer in a glass of water and read it again. His thermometer read 46 deg when reading a bottle in the door although he explained that he had had the door opened for a while during his visit. He said his reading of the bottle upon opening the door was 36 deg. I do not believe that. I just measured some bottled water temperature and it was 48 deg. I have a hard time believing the temp went up 12 degrees and he has been gone for a half hour. My food is cold but not like you expect from a refrigerator. My bottled water and soda, etc., are not very cold. The worst is the water dispenser. That water is barely cooler than tap water. There is almost no difference. The water temperature has been in the 60s when Ive measured it. The tech says the first glass wont be cold (have never had that with any other refrigerator) but even if you get the second and third glasses of water, they arent any colder... maybe a couple of degrees. If anyone else is having this problem and Whirlpool will do nothing, then Im interested in legal action.

Found this page and after reading review after review, I will not spend a dime to fix the junk product from Whirlpool. Going to put in the dumpster and never buy another Whirlpool product. I have never seen so many complaints about a product and many being the same bearing problem. Where is our recall process? Its ok to rip off people over and over with no consequence. And why do large chains keep their product? Guess theyre in on the rip off.

We are a couple in our 60s so our clothes dont really get dirty most of the time, but they come out with marks on them all the time. My dish clothes and wash clothes are a disgrace! Im continually trying to soak them to try and get them to look clean. Ive been going to write this review for a long time, but today was the final straw. Washed a small load of towels and had to rewash several pieces! I would never recommend a Whirlpool product after this experience.

There was a 30 day warranty from Lowe’s which unfortunately we missed because we had not moved down for the summer till after the 30 days. Working through Whirlpool, they sent an independent contractor out 5 times over the summer. Control panel was replaced twice. It never worked properly. I’m now back for the summer, and it still does not work. Do not buy this washer.

I originally brought this to the attention of Whirlpool on February 27, 2014, and they chose to ignore the matter I raised. I am appalled at their customer service, but then again, customer service has been dead in America for decades now. I purchased a KitchenaAid (Architect Series II, Model KERS807SSS02, Ser. XW4704146) oven in 2009, which included a 5-year extended warranty. The first time I had to use my extended warranty was the first time a pot overboiled and thus overflowed covering the top of my range. Since then, Ive had to have my oven serviced two other times, but resulting from a pot which overflowed on the range.The controls are located in the front, directly below the stove top. There is most definitively a flaw in the design of the model I purchased. It seems quite obvious to me that the design should have included protection from moisture reaching the controls. It is very common for pots to overboil, from time to time, and thus overflow, but this should not cause the controls to malfunction due to seepage. Had I purchased the model that had controls behind the range and controls above the cooking surface, moisture would never reach the controls when a pot overflows. It should not cost hundreds of dollars each time a pot overflows on a range. Had I known that the oven model I purchased had a design flaw that allows moisture to reach the computer controls of the oven, I would have purchased the oven with the controls above the cooking surface.I invested over $2K on this oven because having owned KitchenAid appliances in the past, the KitchenAid brand had historically proven reliable. KitchenAid (or now Whirlpool) can no longer take pride in the quality of their products, most likely relative to the loss of manufacturing jobs in the U.S. Whirlpool ignored me the first time I contacted them on this matter and most recently today when I was told that it was a use matter. Apparently they believe that an overflowed pot is not a common occurrence on a range. I wrote directly to Jeff Fettig, CEO of Whirlpool and he has chosen to ignore me.

It wasnt even a year old and I was putting a thermocouple in it a few months later I put another one in it. All I do is put thermocouples in it. I have saved the old ones. This heater is a piece of junk and I am the one whos paying the price for it. I just put a thermocouple in it on January 9, 2012 and I am putting another one in it on January 15, 2012. I have replaced all parts and it still does it. They are going to buy me a new one someday. I’m tired of this. This should not be happening. They are ripping people off. If the pilot light does not light, you have to replace the thermocouple in it.

We purchased a new Cabrio top loading washer in June of 2011 to replace a Maytag Neptune (thinking at the time that wed gone as low as possible). We didnt abuse the machine. In fact, because it had a tempered glass lid (in a plastic frame), we were careful with the lid on the machine. It broke during a wash cycle. Because its heavy, the lid has spring supports on both sides; these are stronger than the plastic frame and over time the frame will break, rendering the machine inoperable. The discounted price for a new lid is over $200, and Maytag (I mean Whirlpool) tells us that it lasted through the 365 day warranty, so the bill is on us. It may be green when it works, but taking 18 month appliances to the landfill is not very green. And others on the web report say that the lid only lasts a year or so. The ratings scale needs to have negative values. Id give this appliance a -5.

I have owned Craftmaster 30-gallon hot water heater and the only things reliable about it is trouble and aggravation. I purchased this in 2004. I have had to replace the controls, valves, wires, etc. three times in 10 years. And Im now looking at doing it a fourth time. The design of these parts are utter crap! Cheap plastic! After replacing these parts, this hot water heater works great for a few years, then invariably starts acting up. The pilot light goes out when the heater is supposed to kick on instead. Getting the pilot light lit again, is an exercise in futility! The red reset button once released, immediately extinguishes the ignition flame. Supposedly, after holding it down for 1-2 minutes allowing gas to build up, it should light the coils... and if it doesnt, youre supposed to wait 10 minutes to try relighting again. You can repeat this process for 12 hours, and if you finally do get this temperamental piece of junk to light, youre lucky. Customer Service has been useless in assistance. All they want to do is send you e-mail, and get you off the phone. Not to mention, Ive been told by many a rep that the hot water heater extinguishes itself, if water is overheated, and that it must be my fault for setting the temp too hot. Baloney... Ive been told that the underside vent must be cleaned every few months, so that air flow is accurate. Makes no difference one way or the other. And recently, Ive been told by a rep, that my 40-yr-old house likely doesnt vent exhaust out through the roof properly. This product is inferior and unpredictable. Its great when it works, and the pilot light stays lit. God forbid it ever goes out though! It is next to impossible to relight. I have spent more money on service technicians attempting to repair/replace parts, than it would have cost to simply by a new hot water heater. I miss the old days, when it was easy to light a hot water heater: Strike a match, turn the gas on, and instant hot water. No muss, no fuss. Having owned many properties w/ hot water heaters over the years, I have never encountered such repeat problems, as with this product. Its simply not reliable, and not worth the $$$. Never again, will I buy a Craftmaster Product. And I had no clue that there was a Class Action Suit filed, and a settlement involved in these faulty units. Whirlpool/Craftmaster should have notified everyone, who purchased one of their units. Now Im stuck w/ a constantly broken unit, and zero recourse. I will never buy anything Whirlpool/Craftmaster again, as a result.

That cost me $75.00 bucks and everything checked out. He was not able to check the water heater since he was not a Whirlpool licensed tech. So I called Lowes to return the water heater. Now this is where your policy at Whirlpool suck! Lowes is not allowed to take back/exchange your crap without an RMA number. I had to get it from Whirlpool directly! I called Whirlpools customer service. They flat out refused to do so. They stated that I need to get a certified Whirlpool tech, but it was up to me to contact one! Their nearest one was from Dallas (2 hours away) and could not come out until later next week! I told the tech that its unacceptable! She even refused to get a supervisor! Plus now I blew up on this one. I had to pay the tech $75.00 up front plus the $75.00 an hour to which it would take 2 1/2 hours for repair. Meaning, I would pay more in a damn service call than the actual cost of the new water heater! Oh, but they would refund me in 60-120 days. I would first verify the work was done and if any overcharges, it would not be refunded! So I say to Whirlpool/GE, your warranty policy is a bunch of **. She informed me that this policy is available online for consumers to view prior to purchasing Whirlpool appliances and it is the consumers Due Diligence to research warranty policies before purchasing. I just got off the phone with WP customer service and explained how many complaints are out there for F70 code error, yet they do not have a recall on this part!How can this be justified? This is a non-mechanical part of the washing machine. The life expectancy should be more than 3 years.My washer is not overused as there are only 2 people in the household. I do not want to pay the cost to repair this. I think WP should issue a part recall on this model. However since I have become a grandparent, I have been extremely worried about the chance of being burnt. the problem is once you turn off the burner, it doesnt look any different than it does when not in use. It stays hot for a very long time however. Hot enough to burn or melt anything. There is no blocking a child from reaching up and touching it. I have placed a loaf of bread near it only to have it melt down the side. The burner didnt look hot at all. This was at least 15 min. after turning off the burner. Im not trying to cause issues but I believe this is a real danger, not only at the risk of someone getting a burn but also to the point of an entire family losing their home or even their lives. A simple flammable item being knocked over could start a fire. I ask that someone look into these risk.

What I didnt know then is that Whirlpool bought the brand in 2000 and was selling their appliances over the Brastemp brand since.Whirlpool is clearly selling disposable appliances here. My vacuum cleaner failed after a week. My brand new refrigerator and laundry machines failed weeks after the one-year warranty and the dishwasher sometimes heats up and tips the 20A circuit breaker (suggested by the manufacturer), which is only for the dishwasher. For my complete surprise, my old appliances are still functional in my friends house. I got my old dishwasher back and I had absolutely no problems since.The vacuum cleaner failed again, this time 5 months out of warranty. In all fail cases, the price to fix it was about 70% of the price of a new one, which I took as a sign to replace them for something else. Good job, Whirlpool! The soap/fabric dispenser holds water after each load (I have to take paper towels and get the dispenser empty!!!). There is not enough water to properly clean the clothes. I have never noticed a reduction in my water bill and have had this piece of junk since 4-25-13. There is NO short cycle on this junk machine. We are senior citizens living on a very limit income with several health problems, and cannot go to a washeteria to wash our clothes. We had a washer that lasted over 19 years and when the motor failed I figured it was more practical to purchase a new washer versus repairing this old one. We had a very reputable Whirlpool dealer here and was very helpful and recommended this washer and the price was in our budget! Was that a big mistake, it does not clean the clothes, does not rinse the clothes with using the 2 rinse cycle and still, does not rinse a load of sheets. I bought a large capacity washer so we could wash 2 sheets at a time. Wrong! You cannot get more than a couple inch of water on the Deepwater cycle, so its like washing clothes on a riverbank on rocks, it rubs clothes together. On my wifes good clothes it will cause little balls of fabrics on them, clothes does not smell clean, and if its real dirty clothes, it will not clean or take the stains out. Its water efficient alright, it does not use any water!Its for sale, and I have talked to a lawyer. Whirlpool customer service was no help at all/All they want was to send a dealer to check it out, the only problem if there is nothing wrong with it that will cost me min. of $125.00. Warranty will cover a manufacturing defect, not a design problem which is what this is. I will just go to small claims courts and get my money back and be done with Whirlpool, hell they dont care! I would buy any washer that is cheaper and has an agitator, without a water efficient features and is top loaded model. It does not pay in this world where large manufacturing companies dont care.

We just found that this dishwasher had a slow leak in the seal to the motor which has ruined our hardwood floor, subflooring and part of a laminate beam on the floor directly below the washer, plus molding from the water. The leak has been going on sometime it was not noticed until the floor became so soaked from use over a long period of time that we finally saw the leak, by accident, in the basem*nt which we hardly access. The Whirlpool costumer service was no help and would not entertain repairing the dishwasher unless we paid due to the fact it is over the year warranty. This is clearly a defective part in their product and poor workmanship on their part. We should not have to check underneath our new appliances to determine if we have leaking problems because we cannot trust them from failing. I did not pay this for them. I thought I got a great buy at Lowes for the price I paid, plus their 4-year extended warranty. Whirlpool used to be a very high-end appliance manufacturing company. Now, all they put out the back door is junk. I would advise not to buy Whirlpool front end anything. My washing machine started making noise about 2 weeks before I reported it to both Lowes and Whirlpool. The noise sounded like bearing not being lubricated, which that is what it ended up being.The noise got so loud that even with all my very expensive electronics (my home entertainment ctr equipment) I could not hear the TV which goes through an expensive Yamaha AV Receiver and those expensive Infinity speakers 7 channel system. The main bearing for the wash drum assembly was bad. After two emails and several phone calls to both Lowes and Whirlpool, Whirlpool was going to send the so-called re-engineered drum assembly. The style I have is 3 parts; the new one according to Whirlpool is one part, but if they put the same bearing in, youre going to end up with the same problem in another year. I live in a condo of just over 920 sq. ft. so really there is no room to repair them in my home, but that is what they are going to do. I will be getting the new drum assembly delivered to my condo and have the repair company doing this dirty job in the middle of my living room.Living in a condo, I have a small utility closet next to the kitchen where the furnace, hot water tank, and washer and dryer are. The closet needs to have some areas cut out with and installed two small hinged doors on each side, so if anything ever needs to be repaired or replaced, there would be a little bit more room to move items in or out. The problem getting the washer out is getting the dryer moved so you can disconnect the electrical plug, cold water hose for the steam, plus the vent hose. First, you have to get to the water valves which are very hard to reach. Because of the way cluster housing is made, they squeeze things into very small holes like the faucets and drain hose are located. I was asked by the repair person if I could help him lift these items out of the closet. I have had 7 fusion back operations and #7 left me in constant pain that I take a narcotic drug for pain daily. So, I called Whirlpool back and said the repair people were only going to send a tech. I was told that it is a two-man job: one tech and one helper. So Lowes needs to authorize two people since Whirlpool is sending the new drum assembly for free. I wish I could have gotten a new washing machine with the so-called re-engineered drum assembly. I am still probably going to have to squeeze between the bulkhead (wall) and the washer and dryer to disconnect everything since I am a small person. If I wasnt retired, I would have bought a different brand front loading washer and dryer, probably Bosch and took the loss on these piles of Junk. I love my country and do my very best even as hard as it is in this day and age to buy US. I served my country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, just to see the civilians willfully buy Asian everything. So now, we have 4 Asian nations that own this country. I dont know why Whirlpool changed from a company that you could trust their products to a company that doesnt give a damn what they put out the back door. These companies still havent gotten the clue why folks buy goods from other countries. I think they need to open their eyes, but I guess with Whirlpool still being a company that is selling a very large number of appliances and making money off of us, suckers, they dont need to change. The only way they are going to change is if folks stop buying their junk.

I purchased an OTH microwave model #WMH1163XVQ-1 around 12/2011 from Lowe’s. Within a year, the paint started peeling inside of the microwave on the bottom. A few weeks ago, I noticed flames in the microwave and realized it wasnt my food but the microwave itself was on fire. Im glad I was close by to immediately turn it off. I purchased this model 2 years ago. I absolutely hate the fact that there is not enough water dispensed to clean my clothes. Part of my clothes dont even get wet, therefore, I have to press pause and add 2 to 3 gallons of water during the wash and rinse cycles. I do like the spin cycle as long as it does not get unbalanced.Wished I had never purchased it.

Cant contact anyone one from Whirlpool on a weekend and Trail Appliances doesnt have anyone available to come and look at it and if they did it would cost us another $100+ with no guarantee and we were told by Trail the Whirlpool will not touch it if someone else does. From what I have read seems we now a victim of Whirlpool. P.s. for those who dont know yet Whirlpool not only now owns Bastemp, they also are the makers of Kenmore and those fridges have experience the same ice issues.

All theyd say is its government regulation fault but for $100 they could send a technician to ensure it is working as designed. To environmental reasons for the new design, seems to me it missed the mark. Longer cycles, extra washes, extra rinses... All I can say is - Unbelievable!!!

We have had this Refrigerator for 3 years in December of 2016. To date, we have had to call a repairman (in February 2016) to replace a circuit board on the back of the refrigerator. That took 4 days, as the company sent the repairman the wrong parts. After that $300 repair, which we got at a discount because, the repairman felt bad that the company actually sent the wrong part. Since then we have taken it apart ourselves for several reasons: The freezer compartment filled up with a layer of ice and started to melt all over the floor, shutting the refrigerator off, (which then forced us to borrow coolers to store the food) until it could be repaired. The drain tube was completely blocked and in order to fix this problem, the tube had to be taken out and modified, according to the Internet videos we then watched. In order to make all of these repairs, the door, the shelves and baskets have to be removed, which is definitely not an easy thing to do at all.There are so many hidden screws and tabs that must be manipulated with tools and by hand to remove the doors, shelves and trays just to get where you need to be in order to make these repairs. With each repair, the ice maker and water dispenser started having problems, because, each time the refrigerator has to be shut down, it takes hours for it to re-set itself. Luckily my husband had the tools necessary, with videos on the Internet to assist us. However, once the first problem started, it was a snowball effect, literally. ALL of these problems have been identified by the manufacturer, however, nothing has been done. VERY POOR DESIGN!

Now after almost finishing supper last night the whole cooktop stopped working. It is going to take a week to get someone out to fix it. Also, we have to purchase an extended warranty for our Whirlpool refrigerator every year because it always needs something fixed. Our Whirlpool washer has been on the blink for quite some time (no warranty) and cant afford to get it fixed. When talking to someone at Whirlpool it appears they have no compassion. I guess it is because they are just paid employees. My recommendation is to look into other products before purchasing. Do your homework.

Well on Nov. 15, 2011, I had a part in the control panel go out, so they replaced it and they charged me $129.00 for labor and $29.18 for the part. My dishwasher is doing the same thing. It doesnt finish the cycle and I have to restart it, so I called the repairman A&E. They said the part is only guaranteed for 90 days. The part only lasted six months! Its the same part and the same problem. It should be considered a defective part. No matter how many you have replaced the part, it is going to need to be replaced and at $160.00, I cant afford it. They should have to pay for defective parts. Also on this model GU2600XTPSI on the panel buttons, the start button was made with this puffy plastic that has pulled apart and now it looks terrible! None of the other buttons were made this way. What a crappy workmanship, they should be embarrassed. This dishwasher was not cheap; it cost $650.00 plus $50.00 for the warranty. 4 years is too short of a time to have to replace any home appliance. There are appliance out there that are three times as old as mine and they are still working. I guess in the last 10 to 15 years, big companies dont care about their products or the people who buy them, just about their profits! I will never buy or recommend Whirlpool products.

We purchased 29.7 cu. ft. side by side in February 2013. Ever since we got it, there is an excessive amount of moisture that builds up in the refrigerator section. It is to the point that the bottom shelf must be dried every other day; otherwise water spills out the front. Most of the moisture forms around the cold air duct work leading in from the freezer. We placed collection containers under the duct work which helped a little. We also tried various temperature settings, still no help. We tried online support and were given many excuses for the excess moisture. Support advised to change the defrost cycle, which we did and failed to correct problem. Support finally threw up their hands and said to call for service. Unfortunately, we were advised since the unit was purchased in Florida and shipped out of the country, the warranty was void. Try and get service in the Bahamas! Ha! This will be the last Whirlpool product we will ever buy.

I called Whirlpool, and they have me use an ohm meter to help troubleshoot the problem. So if you are not handy, you are out of luck. They decided it was my control unit that is defective. They will send me the part free, but I have to pay shipping and installation. What a deal, and what kind of management would dream up of this. The heater is marketed as a 12 year warranty model (only on the tank). Would anyone, having been through this, buy another Whirlpool product?

Wash machine spin cycle does not work properly, and that causes a problem with getting clothes dry. Some soiled clothes will not clean properly and have to be hand washed. Dryer rarely works on one cycle, towels and bed sheets have to be run through a second cycle. These are NOT energy savers. Garbage product, I will never buy Whirlpool again.

I set it at 350 and the bottom coil and broiler both came on and overheat quickly. This is the third time with same problem. I am going to have enough invested in repairs to buy another range. Also the ability for air dry and minimum use of water. The size is appropriate for normal amount of dishes, pots, pans, etc. Stainless steel front with most of the controls hidden. I have always had good luck with Whirlpool products, with this dishwasher continuing with being a quality product for the amount of money spent.
